Meet Brad Koch - Agronomist

Share:
Brad KochBrad joined Golden Harvest in 2005 and has held various agronomy roles in the organization and legacy brands. He spent the last several years building and managing the AgriEdge brand across multiple districts, and is excited to rejoin the agronomy team as the agronomist for west central Illinois. Brad holds a bachelor’s degree in ag science with a minor in agronomy from Western Illinois University and a master’s in soil and crop science from Colorado State University.

Brad’s favorite part of being an agronomist is helping sales reps, seed advisors, and farmers solve agronomist issues that are difficult to diagnose, and then explain the plant, soil, and environmental issues that caused the issues to develop. He works with customers to help them better understand soil and plant interactions and educate on practical ways to address proper plant nutrition and soil fertility.

“My work ethic delivers on the Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results,” Brad says. “I’m known as the crop doctor, as I can typically figure out what is going on with corn and soybeans after careful examination and asking the right questions. I have a strong affinity to precision agriculture, and enjoy discussing methods around implementing things like variable rate input application and GPS yield analysis.”

Outside of work, Brad is passionate about raising his 4 boys to have a love for agriculture, as well as finding time now and again to go fishing, boating, and riding ATVs.
