As a Chadron State College graduate with his degree in agricultural business, John has worked in agronomy for over 30 years, and he has worked for Golden Harvest and its legacy brands for over 20 of those years. John is experienced with product development and evaluation as well as traits validation research management. High Plains Golden Harvest farmers can count on John to be passionate about helping them address their field issues, especially Western corn rootworm.
To John, dealing with ground conditions isn’t a one-step approach. Often there are other factors, such as corn rootworm, that contribute to his seed recommendations. That’s what makes John’s approach different – he sees the whole picture and can treat an issue with a multipronged solution. As he explains, “Along with relying on traits, we’ve also got to utilize some insecticidal applications, whether it be targeting the adult or the larval stage. It just depends on a producer’s choice. But we’ve got to take multiple steps to protect our root system in addition to the trait.”

Obtaining success for farmers means understanding the challenges they’re facing and working with them to identify the best integrated management plan for their business. With a wealth of data and experience ready to precisely place products for maximum performance in fields, John wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s a perfect example of the Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results. As he says, “I love working with the American farmer. They’re resilient and they’re very innovative. They are the heart of this country, and my passion is helping them as much as I can.”
