Meet Andrew Rupe – Agronomist

Andrew brings 9 years of agronomic experience and a deep understanding of genetics, fertility and plant physiology to his role as a Golden Harvest agronomist. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his master’s in agronomy from Iowa State University. He thoroughly enjoys learning from east-central Iowa farmers and helping them tackle the agronomic issues they face.

Andrew says, “I relish in the opportunity to help develop a comprehensive strategy that unlocks hidden yield potential within a grower’s operation.” Determining the yield limiting factor within an operation is how each farmer can push the upper end of production goals.

To deliver on the Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results for our Golden Harvest customers, Andrew helps farmers place the perfect product that fits each soil type, field history, and crop management strategy. “It begins with accurate product characterization, evaluation and testing. Then, this is coupled with testing each of our product’s under real-world, on-farm trials. Finally, we can use historical weather data, genetic predictions and digital tools to find the exact product that has the highest probability for success on a grower’s piece of ground.”

In his free time, Andrew enjoys tackling house projects, helping on his uncle’s farm, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.
