MINNETONKA, Minn., USA, Feb. 9, 2018 – Sterling Seed, has been named the 2018 Golden Harvest® National Seed Advisor of the Year. A local, independent Golden Harvest Seed Advisor in Garden City, Kansas, Sterling is a veteran seed dealer, offering in-depth knowledge of local farming conditions and agronomic expertise to his growing customer base for more than 20 years.

“While Steve Sterling and his team have had a phenomenal year in terms of sales, their success in 2017 goes far beyond the seed they sold,” said Clayton Becker, head, Golden Harvest West. “Sterling Seed consistently puts their customers first, working closely with the Golden Harvest sales and agronomy teams to ensure they are placing products for success and providing top-notch service.”

Sterling was recognized at the 2018 Golden Harvest Seed Advisor Rewards Trip award ceremony, which celebrated the top-performing Seed Advisors from across the country. More than 150 Seed Advisors were in attendance this year. Out of the 12 Seed Advisors honored and recognized as district winners and eligible for the national award, Sterling was selected based on overall business performance, growth and actions taken locally. In addition to Golden Harvest corn and soybeans, Sterling has also become a leader in selling Enogen® corn, which allows farmers to serve as enzyme suppliers for participating ethanol plants and help improve their ROI potential.

“As a business, Sterling Seed has taken immense action resulting in exceptional progress and growth in recent years,” said Becker. “Even more impressive is how Sterling embodies the Golden Harvest promise to be rooted in genetics, agronomy and service. From his time in the field to his interactions with farmers, he is an exemplary model of everything Golden Harvest stands for.”

Seed Advisors such as Sterling offer access to hybrids and varieties powered by broad genetic diversity and exceptional traits and technologies. Golden Harvest corn couples high-quality genetics with high-performing Agrisure® traits and technologies for insect control, herbicide tolerance and water optimization. Golden Harvest soybeans combine advanced genetics with the latest traits and technologies to protect against many of today’s toughest threats.
