As a University of Wisconsin-River Falls graduate, Ron earned his bachelor’s degree in ag marketing and agronomy. He has been working throughout the upper Midwest in the retail agriculture and seed business for over 35 years and is a Certified Crop Adviser.
Ron works to deliver farmers the Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results. As he explains, “What works best for me is if I take a spade, go out there and look at the individual soil types and then dig up some of the hybrids that I’m actually recommending, just to show them how well what I’m recommending is working. Having a farmer see that kind of proof helps them make decisions that will ultimately benefit their return on investment.”
Charting success for farmers means knowing their soils, their overall soil fertility, and the available hybrids and varieties to match those conditions. For Ron, that means working with farmers, trying to understand them, and trying to help them get a better return on investment.
When Ron isn’t digging up soil for the farmers in his area, he’s playing with his grandkids on the lake near Ruthven, Iowa, where he lives with his wife.
