Meet Mitch Montgomery - Agronomist

Share:
Mitch Montgomery

Raised on a farm in northern Iowa, Mitch is an Iowa State University graduate with his bachelor’s in agronomy. Mitch became a certified crop adviser in 1995 and has more than 25 years of experience as an agronomist, retailer and sales representative. Mitch is passionate about helping west central Iowa Golden Harvest farmers address field challenges to maximize yield.

Mitch says farmers constantly want to improve because they have a limited number of crops they’ll grow in their lifetime, so they want to make each one better than the previous. With a Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results, he shares well-received agronomic advice and recommendations. “Any time you can spend walking in a farmer’s field, understanding their needs and trying to help them better themselves, that’s always looked at as positive,” he explains.

Mapping success for farmers means knowing their soils, management practices, historical weather data, and the hybrids and varieties to match those conditions. “Every field and every crop plan is customized. There’s no such thing as a cookie-cutter crop plan in this business,” Mitch adds. This personal attention and service is what he delivers to his Golden Harvest customers.
