Raised on a family farm, Bob is a 1983 University of Illinois graduate with his bachelor’s in agricultural economics and mechanics. Bob has been a Golden Harvest agronomist for the past 17 years and covers east central Illinois. Bob is a certified crop adviser, certified crop specialist, commercial pesticide applicator, the Livingston County Corn Growers vice president, and past president of the Vermilion Watershed Task Force.
By putting his passion for agronomy and farmers to work, Bob helps Golden Harvest customers make wise agronomic decisions. With a Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results, Bob relies on his own experience, as well as the E-Luminate® digital agronomy platform, to help his customers do a better job, which means profit potential. “A lot of my job isn’t just picking hybrids; it’s trying to make sure my customers don’t have a problem in the first place. They need me to be a partner with them in their operation, and that’s what I strive to be. I’m not just somebody selling them seed, but somebody who partners with them to create success,” he says.
Bob’s passion for agronomy and farming doesn’t end with his job at Golden Harvest. “I’ve got a small farm on the side. You may think I do agronomy all day, and that would be it, but I still want to go farm more. It’s fun for me,” he adds. In addition, Bob’s passion extends to family as well and his grandkids.
