Meet Spencer McIntosh - Agronomist

As an Oklahoma State University graduate with his bachelor’s in agronomy, Spencer has worked in the ag industry for more than 20 years. Before becoming an agronomist for Golden Harvest and its legacy brands 10 years ago, Spencer gained experience as a retail agronomist and crop consultant. Spencer lives in Wichita, Kansas, covering central and eastern Kansas, southwest Missouri, and Oklahoma agronomy for Golden Harvest.

To deliver the Service 365 year-round commitment to doing whatever it takes to optimize yield results, Spencer begins with understanding a farmer’s management style and production environment. “In the southern plains we have highly variable production environments and soils, including pretty harsh drylands, limited irrigation, and fully irrigated high-yield situations, which can all be within half a mile of each other,” he explains. “We have a lot of dynamic situations that we encounter, so understanding which products fit into the operation enables the farmer to have success with our products.”

Growing up farming on Muscogee Nation reservation lands fueled Spencer’s desire for a career in agriculture. Today, he continues his family and tribe’s legacy in agriculture as a Golden Harvest agronomist. In his free time, Spencer enjoys traveling with his wife, Nicole, and his 4 children.
